 Remodeling
is a major part of my business. Room additions, roofing jobs,
decks, privacy fences, swimming pools, garages, and various
other projects have been completed all over Central Illinois.
Satisfied clients are too numerous to mention, but a list
of past clients can be provided upon request. Just briefly

 Experience
has taught me that interior design is often stymied by modern
construction techniques. Because of the large expanses of open
space in modern homes, it is often necessary to use trusses
and other manufactured structural components. Sometimes this
is done to maximize structural integrety. Sometimes it is done
to increase speed of construction. The negative side of this
is that it often hampers creativity. Few modern contractors
are willing to take the time to add the little extra touches
that make a new home show true character. On the job "stick
framing" can add tremendously to the character and creativity
of interior design. Simple little things like sloping ceilings,
little nooks, interesting corners, wasted attic space converted
to useable living space, can make a otherwise ordinary home
appear totally unique. Yes, this may add to labor costs, but
sometimes it is well worth the time. My commitment to being
on the job daily and my willingness to work with the new homeowner
will often present opportunities for this type of creativity.
I would be delighted to work with professional, interior
designers. The ideal time for this would be in the early,
stages, before the plans are finalized. However, when the
home is nearly finished, and it is time for painting and wallpapering,
I would gladly work with the homeowner and/or professional
, interior designers to create a strikingly beautiful finished
product. Painting and papering are more jobs I prefer to do
myslef. And, of course, trim work is better not left to others.

the unusual, handmade woodwork, the stairway design, the small
closets, the balcony, the angled walls and ceilings, the wooden
trim around the wallpaper borders.

 In
the cold, winter months, I am always looking for small, home
improvement projects. Need your bathroom remodled? If the
old colors are getting to you or the floor needs replacing,
give me a call. Would you like new kitchen cabinets, a fresh,
new countertop, or some new and colorful wallpaper? Does your
woodwork show the dents and scratches of children's toys or
mom's vacuum cleaner? Doors need replacing? Need new siding?
Basement still need finishing? If it is cold outside, your
project might just be what I am waiting for.
